Swearing off swearing

Even as a boy, I liberally peppered my speech with salty expletives, mostly to maintain my tough-guy image. Later in professional life, I used forceful four-letter words for emphasis and rarely had to reiterate an opinion. When I joined AA over twenty years ago, vulgar language, particularly when used with humor, were second nature to me, part of my style.
