The Stranger On the Bench

I got sober in a small courthouse town in southeast North Carolina, where the pace of living was genteel. Spanish moss hung from the trees, the coastal climate was mild, and the town provided plenty of park benches for those who want to rest and enjoy the daily flow of activity. Most of the big name stores had moved to the new mall.
