My sister is a case manager of a halfway house where prison inmates are gradually reintroduced to the street. Management of the halfway house was considering a rule requiring residents to attend classes within the facility and banning outside twelve-step programs. They called on the AA corrections committee to put on a presentation, and the man who headed the committee pulled out the July 2000 issue and pointed to my article, which explains how invaluable the program is even to those of us in prison. My sister had no idea I'd written the article, and it about floored her. The facility opted to allow the twelve-step meetings. YES!!!
