AA and the Grapevine have saved my life. I have a serious hearing problem and regular meetings can be frustrating, as I strain to hear. I still feel the spirit of the meetings, but at times I feel ungrateful and unhappy, as if I couldn't care less. I know I should be more grateful, since I have enjoyed sobriety for the past eighteen years. I live in a home overlooking a beautiful lake, am married to a caring wife of forty-five years, and have raised four children--all doing fine. So why am I so restless and depressed? I know the world is moving faster than I can keep up with. Is old age (sixty-eight) a factor?
