Newfound Freedom

Ten years ago, with nearly four years of sobriety, I traveled to Warsaw, Poland to live and work for the summer. One of my older brothers who was working there had suggested that I come stay with him. The U.S. economy was slack at the time, but the Polish economy was booming after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
