My Cup Rattled

When I stumbled into AA in January 1962, I was working for a company that was headquartered in New York City. (It shall remain nameless, but its initials could have stood for "nothing but cocktails.") For almost every one of its sales and business meetings, a catered bar was rolled in. Soon after I came into AA, I had to attend a business meeting, and for the first time, I was about to do so without having a drink.
