My Heavenly Fit

The most important thing that has happened to me in the last year is the realization that I am an alcoholic. It probably wasn't hard for anyone else to recognize, but I was the last to know. It took over twenty years of hard drinking for me to reach my bottom. On any given day I would drink all the liquor available or pass out, whichever came first. I was thirty pounds overweight, had an impatient, egocentric attitude, and a bloated, ruddy face. Peppermint schnapps was my constant companion. It didn't smell too bad, could pass for mouthwash in a pinch, and, best of all, I could drink it straight, so a mixer wasn't necessary. The bottle rested in a little nook under the front seat of my truck, always at the ready.
