I learned about Occam's Razor in high school science: "If you have a complicated problem, look for the simplest solution." It was not until many years later, after I joined the Fellowship, that I realized AA had figured out the simple solution to the complicated problem of alcoholism: If you don't have the first drink, you won't have the second.
