Whom do you hate?

Last Labor Day weekend, my partner and I went to an AA round-up. When my sponsor drove up in a truck bearing a rainbow license plate, some people at the round-up made nasty remarks. Later, a fellow alcoholic said, "Dyke," as I walked by. My sponsor left because the vibes were so bad. My partner and I would have left, too, except that we were in an RV, and there were no other campsites to be found that weekend. So we stayed, but we did not feel safe.
