The Promises In Prison

I am almost four years sober, and today I was sentenced to forty-five years in prison (all but fifteen years of which were suspended). I did not relapse and do something stupid. Quite the opposite. I have worked a fairly good program and turned my life around. I have become a respectable member of our community, an elected official, and a successful businessman. So why am I facing a prison term? Some things I did years ago have come back, quite vividly, to be reckoned with.
