Dealing With Disaster

Like many people, both in and out of AA, I was deeply shaken by the attacks on New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania on September l. Although I am not aware of any acquaintances who were hurt or killed, round myself grieving for the pain inflicted on the victims and their loved ones. I thought back to the people I knew in those states, places where I had attended AA conferences and made many dear friends. I had even attended a conference in the World Trade Center itself, and I reflected on that happy event as though it were in another lifetime.
