A Thousand Times Before
It was 8:45 P.M. I finally gave up. "Honey," I said, "sounds like somebody is lurking around my truck. I'd better go out and check. I'll be back in a moment." I heard her tell me to be careful as I went out the door. I ran to the truck, started it up, and drove to the liquor store as fast as possible. It closed at nine. I had just enough time to make it.
