The Grapevine Goes Wild

In sobriety, I discovered my passion for exploring the wilderness. At twenty-one months sober, I accepted a summer job working as a wilderness expedition guide in Maine and New Hampshire. Before departing, I was very scared. I didn't know if I could stay sober because I wouldn't be able to use many of the tools that were keeping me sober. No frequent meetings, telephone calls, home group, service position, or active sponsorship. I worried that I could end up restless, irritable, and discontent.
