Never Too Late

As I prepare to celebrate my seventy-fifth birthday, I am so thankful I've found the happy, joyous, and free path in AA. I've spent most of my life running away from problems and always blaming others for my unhappiness. At first, the alcohol made me feel like the life of the party. Then it became a necessity. I was having aches and pains, so the doctors prescribed sleeping pills and pain pills. With all these mind-altering substances, I could escape from reality (or so I thought).
