Fourteen years ago, I had to go to a thirty-day treatment facility as a result of a foolish action--playing chicken with a semi-diesel. Fortunately, I won the game; the court, however, felt I needed help. I went to AA, but I was terrified. I didn't want to believe anything was wrong with me. I thought at age nineteen, I was too young. Not everything in the Big Book had happened to me yet. So I did some more research and ended up back in AA six years later.
