I hit a very difficult time when I was five years sober because of medical problems other than alcoholism. I was in five or six institutions and had eight jobs that year. But I had just gotten a new sponsor, and he brought AA to me wherever I was, including the hospital where I spent my fifth anniversary. He gave me his five-year medallion.
