Three Essentials

I would like to start off with gratitude. I'm grateful for a loving and caring God, the Twelve Steps, and the principles outlined in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous. I woke up this morning without the desire to drink. It hasn't always been that way. I'm an alcoholic of the hopeless variety. I had my first drink at twelve years of age. My first drunk was wine with the guys in the neighborhood park. This wine was not nectar from the fermented vine. I threw up a lot and thought I'd better not drink wine again. I never thought that I shouldn't drink alcohol again.
