Watching Myself Walk By

My home group is in a town where there is a rescue mission and, about three blocks away, a soup kitchen that offers free lunches. Starting at 11:00 A.M. there's a steady stream of down-and-out and homeless souls making their daily trek, on one of the city's main streets, to the soup kitchen. In a small town, this is quite a parade. Then, with their bellies full and fingers wrapped around home-rolled cigarettes, they make the trek back to the city environs to disappear back into their unique world of loneliness and anonymity.
