The Wisdom of the Body

Memories of my first home group are mostly sensory. I'd feel cold, impatient, irritable, unlocking the big double doors an hour early to make coffee and set up. But I can re-feel the reprieve I'd get from the troubles of early sobriety (owing money, sleeping badly, going through a hostile divorce, losing my house, belongings, business, leaving my own family baffled, not knowing whether to believe me or the ex) when I'd flip the switches lighting up that big white empty open meeting room in a local church, and sense that for the next two hours I was safe.
