The letter "Addendum Ad Infinitum" in the January 2003 Grapevine validated my sentiments about endless chanting at meetings. For far too long, I felt obligated to keep up-to-date with the latest lingo to make sure I was a good little AA and obligated to chant each new add-on. I feared that if I didn't participate, I might not be an AA member in good standing or might not maintain my sobriety. Like the author of the letter, I asked, "Where will all this end?"
