A question of recovery

Are alcoholics in AA recovering or recovered? I have listened to statements on both sides of this question. For me, it will always be "recovering." If I were to consider myself recovered, I would no longer be an alcoholic, need meetings, or personal growth, which I believe is the meat of the program. As people say, "It is an ongoing program." That means as long as I look at myself and ask God to reveal to me what I need to change, I will continue to be recovering from my addiction to alcohol and alcoholic thinking. We don't graduate. We are never cured. We are in remission. We can live if we don't drink.
