Salute to sobriety
In 1956, at the age of nineteen, I received an "Undesirable Discharge" after two years of service in the army--due largely to my alcoholism. In March 1981, I got sober with the help of my Higher Power and AA. In the October 1997 issue of the Grapevine, I mentioned some of the terrible events in my life. I believe I should now mention the positive as well as the negative.
