I am neither an alcoholic nor a drug addict, but I am the mother of three alcoholics--ages twenty-five, nineteen, and eighteen--two of whom are in recovery. I subscribe to the Grapevine for my students at a tutoring center for teens in recovery. Naturally, I read and am encouraged by all the stories. My family's long heritage of alcoholism is echoed in many of them.
