I identified with the thoughts expressed in the article "Who Says You Can't Have Fun in Sobriety?" (August 2003) Like the author, back when I was drinking I was so busy trying to avoid detection that I had little time for fun and found life so grim that I seldom laughed. I thought that AA would end all of that "fun." I was thrilled to find, after some time in sobriety, that I could actually laugh out loud and enjoy life again! I now have twenty-five years of happy sobriety.
