The Writing On the Wall

He'd heard a higher power can be seen in anything. He never dreamed he'd find it in a note written by a stranger in a parked car.

I came into the program a little over two years ago as a suicidal agnostic. At that time, I was spiritually dead and believed that I would soon be physically dead if I did not find a way to stop drinking. I was severely depressed and wanted to die. I started seeing a therapist who persistently suggested that I give AA a try. Although strongly opposed to the idea because of the God thing, I knew that the therapy alone was not keeping me away from alcohol. I was still drinking.
