The Ups and Downs Of Drinking

When I attended my first AA roundup, a woman was telling her story in front of a couple of hundred alcoholics. She came to the part where she stated, "Did I have a problem with alcohol? You bet I did. Every time I picked up a drink, my panties fell down!" Well, my mouth dropped open with disbelief as the crowd around me roared with laughter. I was aghast and astonished that this woman just shared such a thing with a room full of people--men and women! But you know, this was the first thing in AA I could relate to. I've stuck around ever since.
