I Knew Joe

Hitting bottom is one of the most painful things we have to do as alcoholics. When you are an alcoholic with the level self-justification, arrogance, and denial that I had, it takes a combination punch from your Higher Power to "take you out." Everything in my life was billowing flames while I quietly strummed my guitar, casting my mind back with bitterness to the time when my group had been the "flavor of the month" many years before in London.
