An easier way

The letter "No Pushing, Please" in the December 2003 Grapevine sums up some important points regarding the Twelve Steps, the Traditions, and the fact that we can embrace "anyone who reaches out for help" whether or not they accept dependence on "God as we understand him" as the source of strength. I couldn't agree with the writer's position more, especially from the standpoint of our Third Tradition, except for one important fact: It's impossible to practice the program of Alcoholics Anonymous "as it is laid out" without acknowledging the existence of a God of our own understanding.
