Step Three - Once he'd rejected the God of your understanding, he had to come up with one of his own

The first meeting I attended of what became my home group was a bittersweet experience. I was deeply thankful for the hands of welcome that were offered and for the immediate personal acceptance I felt, but I was troubled by and afraid of all this talk of spirituality and God. Being a diehard agnostic, I was vehemently committed to a stance against organized religion. There was no way you people were ever going to convince me of the existence of a God.
