I found the story "Homeless Bob" (December 2002) especially moving. It made me think of the various hangers-on who, although they can't stay sober, keep coming to meetings for the coffee and the warmth. That's alcohol--"cunning, baffling, powerful!" It also reminded me that not all alcoholic stories have happy endings. I'm always just one drink away from having my entire life fall apart.
