The Free Press Of AA
In 1939, Bill W. and Dr. Bob and the other early AAs produced an inspired and practical book, Alcoholics Anonymous, which became the blueprint for their recovery as well as ours. The publication of Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions followed in 1953. Together, these books set forth the basic philosophy and practice of AA, explain and elucidate the Steps, and offer guidance--through the Traditions--for keeping AA alive and well and stable for generations to come. Without them, AA members would have no reliable, accurate source for the principles of the AA program. Without them, our Fellowship might not have survived.
