The story "Ghosts" (June 2003) brought tears to my dim old eyes. I got sober in 1977 and still hear voices of the folks in the "attic of my mind" keeping me sober with their wisdom and compassion. How spiritual, I thought, that this article was published in the same issue as "Falling Through the Cracks," describing the author's disillusionment with present-day meetings where newcomers are ignored by cliques of sober AAs.
