Chasing the Glow

I went into treatment to hide from a man who was trying to kill me. In my insane state, I felt that would be a great idea. The acting director came there the week I arrived. The first time she spoke, she seemed to glow with that smile of hers. And when she spoke, I told myself, I want to glow like that. I found out she had been a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for twenty years. While at the facility, they suggested I find a sponsor. So I asked this glowing woman if she would be my sponsor. She said no, and suggested I talk to other women in the program because she was so busy. She did, however, give me her phone number. I asked her again if she would be my sponsor, and she said she would think about it.
