Thank you very much for putting my dad's story in the Grapevine ("Living Sober, Dying Sober," September 2004). AA was a lifeline for my dad. I'm grateful to AA for giving me my dad back. He was a wonderful person, and at his funeral I found out how wonderful he was to his AA family. I'm still grieving his death, but I do know that without his AA family he would not have died sober and at peace. I know he enjoyed reading the Grapevine very much--it was a big part of his sobriety. I do hope that his article will help others to know that it can be good up to the end.
