The Father She Always Wanted

The man she loved the most had been what she hated the most!

Newly sober, shaky, and not sure if I wanted to live, I detoxed in what would become my home group. I was resentful of the "treatment center girls" who came in together, sat together, and seemed to share some secret I knew nothing about. I was resentful that they got three meals a day. I resented having responsibilities. I resented life. But most of all, I resented the Marine Corp.
