Grandparents in Love

She had to tell her grandchildren she was getting married, not dying

George and I met in Alcoholics Anonymous at area assemblies, where we were both involved in service. He was serving as the soundman and I chaired the Institutions Committee. He had four years of sobriety, I had six. As we rotated into different service positions, we came to value each other's opinions and enjoy the time we spent together. We started seeking each other out at local Days of Sharing, informational workshops, state and regional conventions, and regional forums. By the time he became our area delegate and I was chairing the assembly, we had become really fond of each other. Six years after we met, with much giggling, this grandmother accepted his proposal of marriage.
