The question of kids

The author of the letter "Moms, too" (November 2003) complains of being asked to leave a meeting after her child became disruptive. While I can't go along with ejection, when message-carrying falters through avoidable noise pollution, everybody suffers. The member struggling to be heard from the podium suffers; the members struggling to listen suffer; the parent spending the whole meeting focused on what the child will do next suffers; and the kindhearted soul who takes him or her outside suffers, as does the child.
