Thanks for "The Mirror in the Coffee Shop" (November 2003). It brought back something that happened to me a good many years ago. After retiring, I spent a great deal of time in hospitals, prisons, and other institutions, conducting classes for alcoholics. One day, a young lady ran up to me on the streets of Boston, threw her arms around me, thanked me, and asked if I remembered her from one of the classes. "Of course I do," was the reply. (Is this an honest program?)
