The Band Played on

I got sober at age twenty-nine. During my childhood, I struggled with alcoholism's symptoms of isolation, loneliness, feeling different, and having a fantasy world to escape to when real life got too tough. During my teens, I struggled with the progressive symptoms of drinking to excess, blackouts, and drug abuse, along with the childhood symptoms that were still there. I also developed anorexia and bulimia.
