60 Years of Humor from the AA Grapevine

AA members discovered the importance of not taking themselves too seriously early in our Fellowship's history. And over the years, the Grapevine has done its part to support this aspect of recovery by printing well over a thousand cartoons and jokes. The first "Heard At Meetings" appeared in the July 1944 issue, the first original cartoon in November 1944. Since then, Grapevine jokes have been published under six different titles, from "Barley Corn!" to today's "Ham on Wry." Here is a sampling of those early laughs:
