Sober Sister

Last February, I went to my first AA meeting. It was a closed meeting. It was a closed meeting, for women only. They call themselves the "Sober Sisters." I had my share of drinks that day, but I had promised my husband that I would go to a meeting. It was uncomfortable walking through the door, although the ladies outside greeted me and hugged me before I entered. I was offered coffee and a chair. I felt so out of place. I didn't belong there! I knew that I had a "little bit" of a drinking problem, but I didn't need to go to AA meetings.
