Inside an Asl Meeting
A hearing alcoholic gets the message from deaf AAs
I attend AA meetings daily in Hawaii. Recently, my three favorite groups debated the same controversy. Should we pay to hire an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter? It wasn't certain there were deaf or hard of hearing alcoholics that wanted AA in our area, but some members thought if the service was provided, deaf people with a drinking problem would "hear" of the program and perhaps attend.
