In twenty-two-years of sobriety, I've never seen anyone wear political campaign buttons at our Saturday night meeting. Recently, however, a couple has begun wearing such buttons. I mentioned to them privately that I thought it was divisive and not in the spirit of AA's Traditions, but they brushed me off indignantly. I hope this will all turn out to be a tempest in a teapot and we won't start seeing AA members with other buttons or T-shirts in support of candidate. It just doesn't seem appropriate.
