Where was the hand of AA?

Friday morning, May 14, 2004, I went to my home group for the 10:00 A.M. meeting. I met a newcomer there about fifteen minutes prior to the start of the meeting. This newcomer, a sixty-seven-year-old woman, asked me for a ride home after the meeting, and I immediately said yes. She told me she had to take three buses to get to the meeting. She was determined to get there because she had "problems with alcohol," just like me. This was her first time at the meeting. We talked about the First Step and being powerless.
