Every Boy His Own Barrel

A dry drunk discovers an easier way of life

It's good for a sore throat," said my mother as she poured whiskey and honey into a spoon for me to consume. My dad would finish the rest of the bottle. "Every boy needs his own barrel," exclaimed my grandfather as he made a special barrel of elderberry wine for me. These were my first experiences with alcohol.
