Getting the message

During my first forced dry days in prison, I came across an old Grapevine in the meeting room at the country jail. When I opened the cover and saw the Alcoholics Anonymous Preamble, I knew that I had finally found something that would make my life worth living again. At the time, there were no AA meetings held in this prison, so the Grapevine was not only my "meeting in print," but also my rescue net.
