Saying Good-bye to Lee

One more gift of the program

On Monday, March 25, 2005, seven of us from our home group went to another member's house rather than go to the regular meeting. He had been deteriorating physically for some time, and had not been able to make our meeting for a few months. Many of us had stopped by singly during this time to visit, help, and offer what we could, but the previous Monday his wife (also a member of the group) had wondered if some of us could come over and hold a meeting at their house. The sign-up sheet was quickly filled, and we went on with our regular order of business; well, as regular as thirty or so recovering alcoholics holding two simultaneous meetings at two different tables in a rather small church basement can be. It seems to work for us. (Our group will celebrate thirty-nine years this September.)
