Sober, an alcoholic begins to show up for life
Old age, I've heard, is not for sissies. I might add that old age is not for drunks either. I was an old drunk with an all-consuming fear and loneliness that shut me out of the lives of my children, my grandchildren, my friends, my neighbors, and ultimately God.
