In his letter "Dollars and Sense" in the November Grapevine, Mike L. wrote, "I used to get extremely angry over people who would go out, eventually come back, but say that they had ruined their finances so much that they couldn't contribute when the basket was being passed." A friend related a similar story to me when she had made the same complaint to her sponsor. Her sponsor told her to put one dollar in the basket for each time her nemesis didn't, along with her own contribution. My friend thought this was a crazy way to deal with her resentment. Soon though, she found that the anger faded away.
