The Long Road Home

During my first six years of sobriety, I missed out on one of the most important aspects of our Fellowship: Carrying the message through service. I never went on a single Twelfth Step call, never answered the hotline, never sponsored others, never went to business meetings; that list of "nevers" could go on and on. What eventually happened? I felt disconnected, stopped going to meetings, and eventually got drunk again. Big surprise!
